From
Oakland North:
While it seems as if summer skipped the Bay Area this year, on Monday Oakland got a taste of August heat. Temperatures climbed as high as 80 degrees from Bake Sale Betty’s to the Grand Lake Theater, and the warmth lingered into the evening. But don’t worry—a local weather expert says this mini heat wave is nothing to get hot and bothered about.
Don't worry? Don't
worry? We're finally getting some warm weather after one of the
chilliest, least-sunny summers on record, and you're complaining about it and wanting it to get cold again?
Argh.
;)
But there's a reason people are shooting heroin, writing depressing music, and killing theyselves up there in Cascadia.
It's called February. I know, I was there. ;-)
Miss ya.
And that crack was because Pirate and I have a friend who spent her junior year abroad in Scotland and fell in love with the climate. She moved to Seattle when she got back home because it was the closest she could get.
I've yet to turn to heroin, but it takes substantial booze and coffee to get me through late winter. (In all seriousness, I'm already experiencing seasonal effects, to the point that I think it's time to bite the bullet and get a lightbox.)
