There were never any "good old days" — they are today, they are tomorrow
Clearly spring fever is setting in

Clean ALL the things!
I wish I would remember to take a photo of the garden patch before I start weeding. Oh, well. Pulled five or six three-gallon buckets' worth of weeds and dead plants and suchlike out. Need to do a bit more soon, but the late-afternoon shadows were beginning to set in.

As far as perennials/in-this-climate-they-might-as-well-be-perennials go, the tree collard is so happy. The kale would be happier if I could figure out what these damn mildewy aphid things are that are troubling it. And nothing fazes the rosemary, of course.

Definitely need to put in some lettuce. At least this time Pirate (with his new-found fondness for salads) will be helping me to eat it, so maybe it won't all go to seed like it has in the past.

On Earth Day my office building has free (otherwise expensive) vegetable seed packets in the lobby. I'll see if I can score some for you. Unfortunately they want to be planted right about now ("after the first frost".. heh), but the purple beans and lima beans did decently well, even in my pots.

I miss gardening. I've got orchids, but not enough sun for much else.
I heart your Hyperbole and a Half icon, btw.
