Lexi in the woods

In brief...

...maybe not quite the soul of wit, but in the neighborhood:

  • 10:49 It's really uncanny how much my uncle now looks like Bill Murray in "The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou". #

playing with the new phone

We've only had them for a couple of days now, but so far I'm really liking the new phones we got.

The camera is much better than the one on the previous model. This is a photo I took last night of the cat on the bed, lit only by the ambient light from a string of red rope lights we have running around the room at ceiling level:

And based on preliminary experiments, it seems to be possible to transfer files (MP3s, at least; haven't tried other formats yet) to the phone via Bluetooth — no proprietary oops-sorry-won't-run-on-Macs software from Verizon, no buying a specialty cable and installing and learning the intricacies of BitPim; just Bluetooth Menu → Our Computer → Browse/Get Files → done!

So I now have the MP3 of this on my phone:

Yay!

And speaking of the new phones, if you think it would be a good thing for Lexi (and by extension, the monkey) to have your number/email/address/other, please leave a comment here. All comments will be screened.

My Mother's Uncooked Cranberry Relish (Team LexiMonkey Household Cookbook #1)

Now that I have a phone that can access Google Docs (even if it's limited to read-only), I feel like I've got motivation to put the household favorite recipes up — that way, if I'm at the market and need to check the ingredient list, I can.

I just added the inaugural recipe: My Mother's Uncooked Cranberry Relish. Pirate thinks this is one of those dishes that only sour-loving freaks like my family will enjoy. *shrug* What can I say? Dad and I love it, and are fond of eating it straight from the bowl with spoons. Mmm.
