I just had yet another person offer to buy the hat off my head. Maybe I should start saying yes. Lessee now, it cost me $35 five years ago, so... "Sure. You can have the hat for $50. If you want the reflective hatband, that'll be another $15. You can't have the Aztec cat pins; those were a gift from my mother."

Really, the Hat Guys (17th & Broadway, downtown Oakland) ought to give me a commission, considering how many people I direct their way...

I found myself laughing aloud in disbelief when I came across this latest piece of news about the ongoing economic implosion. From Forbes:
In fact, some of the most basic details, including the $700 billion figure Treasury would use to buy up bad debt, are fuzzy.

"It's not based on any particular data point," a Treasury spokeswoman told Forbes.com Tuesday. "We just wanted to choose a really large number."
