There were never any "good old days" — they are today, they are tomorrow
Take 2: Team LexiMonkey to SF today (12/30/2007)

Okay, now this is more like it:

Yesterday's planned trip to SF's Japan Center got put off due to cold, drizzly weather, so we went to Berkeley instead (in the cold, drizzly weather — hm).

We slept a bit later than we'd planned (*yawn*) and are hoping to get out the door by 11:00. So if you're over in SF, free this afternoon, and want to get together for coffee/nibbles/sitting in the sun/something else just TXT one of us.

You know, we still haven't gotten together for french fries yet. Now that it's past the Solstice and days are getting brighter, want to go to Barney's some time in the not-too-distant future? spiritualmonkey and I went to Frjtz the other day when we were in SF, and I wasn't hugely impressed with their fries (or the rest of the meal, for that matter).

Speaking of doing things, how about a rail game tomorrow? BTW, have you been to the pen store in Japantown? It's my single favorite thing about Japantown, although there are so many things to love about that place. That pen store is where I bought the mechanical pencil that I used in my first-ever crossword tournament back in March, and I did pretty well, though I doubt much of that was due to the pencil. Still, the right tools for the job and all that.

BTW, Amy and I have been playing Guitar Hero until our wrists hurt. It's awesome! If you haven't tried it, you really should. If you come over, you could probably pry the guitar out of our hands if you ply us with liquor first. :-)

Oh my, yes — love (LURVE) those Japanese stationery supplies. The notebook paper is so smooth and nice to write on. And all the nifty pens, and the little boxes to hold things, and the erasers shaped like sushi, and the funny Japanglish-heavy stationery sets, and the tiny colored pencils, and....

We exercised great self-control and got out with not too much damage to the wallet.

Either a rail game or Guitar Hero sounds like fun. As for the plying you with liquor, Pirate has several original cocktails he/we've come up with, and I'm sure he'd be delighted to mix some up for us all.

Tonight's probably too late, as we're going out, but how about tomorrow?

Tomorrow wouldn't be great — spiritualmonkey is working tonight and doesn't anticipate getting home before 5:00. Plus Wednesday is a workday for me, and since I get up at the crack of dawn these days I also turn into a pumpkin inconveniently early.

Maybe a Friday or Saturday? I know bff2112 would also love to play a rail game, if I might add him to the evening. Plus strawberrytabby, whom you haven't met. She's not a rail game player herself, but enjoys hanging out while we do (or at least humors us enough to pretend she does).
