food, Bascove peaches
Wonton crisps:

Take a package of wonton wrappers and cut into suitably snackable-sized pieces (the small square wrappers work well cut into 4 strips). Arrange strips on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil and spray lightly and evenly with olive oil cooking spray. Sprinkle evenly (and generously!) with Penzeys' salsa salad seasoning mix, then bake at 425F for 5 minutes or until wonton strips are crisp, blistered, and browned around the edges. Cool on baking sheet.

Serve with beverage of your choice. Iced tea or mineral water if you want something non-alcoholic. Otherwise, beer would be good, or a nice white wine (anything that'll stand up to highly-spiced food). spiritualmonkey and I have been enjoying them with brandy Manhattans.

Ooooo, that sounds good. And I see you've discovered Penzeys. Have you tried their smoked paprika yet?

I love Manhattans. Will have to try a brandy Manhattan next ...

I've been a Penzeys fan for a while now -- back in 1994, the guy I was living with (the one I broke up with after I met spiritualmonkey was originally from Waukesha, Wisconsin. We went back to visit his folks and Penzeys was the one thing I had on my list of "MUST VISIT." Yeah, sure, sweetie, I'll try this frozen custard stuff you've been raving about, whatever. [And, in fact, it turned out to be too rich for my taste.] But spices? I'm there.

And it smelled soooooooo good walking through the door into the store.
